Protective Air Sealing

Prevent heat loss from your home when you install duct or air sealing from Lone Star Insulation LLC in Weatherford, Texas. With our services, your residence will be comfortable, safe, and energy efficient.

Duct Sealing

If your home has a forced-air heating and cooling system, it uses ducts to distribute the conditioned air to each room. In most homes, as much as 30% of this air is lost due to leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts.

Because of this loss, your energy bills go up, and your home is always the wrong temperature, no matter what the thermostat is set to. We work to reverse this issue while keeping your costs down and home comfortable.

The Envelope

Even if you have a quality heating system, your air will be wasted if you don't have an efficient setup of your outer walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs. It is essential to seal this "envelope" to prevent heat loss.

Out the Window

Finding and addressing the cause of air leakage is the least expensive way to save energy. On average, heating equipment uses about 15 cents per dollar to operate. Your home requires the remaining 85 cents to keep it warm or cool. Don't waste this amount with an inefficient system.

Blower Door Tests

Identify potential safety, air quality, and moisture problems before they occur. The International Energy Conservation Code, 2009 IECC, allows two different methods to test for adequate air tightness.

Most building officials prefer the blower door test, due to its clear results. This review takes about 15 minutes to set up but can take much longer to finish the inspection. Your home either passes or fails.

Visual Inspections

The IECC also permits a visual inspection by a code official. This check is done on a list of 17 or more air barrier and insulation components.
